Rocky Beach
Founder & Executive Director
A world champion Ultimate Frisbee player, Rocky Beach has a background in entrepreneurship, youth development, nonprofit management, and coaching. He spent nine years at United Way of the Bay Area, where he built the corporate volunteer program and managed the organization’s largest portfolio as a Director of Development. Rocky also served as the Director of Partnerships and Development for CODE2040, where he grew annual fundraising from $2M to $7.2M. In 2016, Rocky left his leadership role to launch Ultimate Impact. He has a BA from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, graduating magna cum laude.

Lawrence Li
Chief Operating Officer
Lawrence Li provides strategic operations leadership to small, rapidly evolving nonprofits, most recently at SPUR. With a 30-year career in systems design, business analytics, and tactical execution, he brings a broad skill set that covers financial, HR, facility, and IT leadership. Dedicated to equitable, sustainable, and prosperous communities, Lawrence has served on boards including San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, Yerba Buena Partnership, and Yerba Buena Gardens Conservancy. When he’s not supporting the Ultimate Impact team with strategic insights, you can find Lawrence on the streets enjoying coffee, biking around, or running.

Jahlil "JJ" James
Senior Manager of Leadership and Training
Jahlil “JJ” James has worked in youth development since 2013, when he partnered with Golden Valley Health Centers to design and build a youth program. JJ later served as a Playworks coach in the Bayview and Mission neighborhoods of San Francisco before joining Ultimate Impact in 2019. As Senior Manager of Leadership and Training, JJ manages the Developing Leaders program and supervises the Coaching and Leadership program for transitional-aged youth. He excels at working with kids from all types of backgrounds, and you can usually find him starting the dance breaks at our summer camps and tournaments.

Nicole Canning
Program Manager
Nicole Canning manages Ultimate Impact’s Girls and Company program and supervises our Oakland programming. She began working with youth in 2011, guiding students on educational sails along the coast of California aboard a historic tall sailing ship. She received her BA from Northeastern University and worked on the global product marketing team for Reebok before shifting back to youth development. At Big Sister, she led the recruitment team, enrolling girls and women in gender-intentional mentoring programs. Her experiences in Ultimate have ranged from captaining and coaching to playing at the highest levels, including with the semi-professional Bay Area Falcons.

Sarafina Angstadt-Leto
Manager of Data Evaluation & Competitive Play
Sarafina Angstadt-Leto discovered her passion for mentorship while working with youth through Reading Partners in Oakland. Sarafina earned a BA in psychology from the University of Oregon and is a decorated Ultimate player who has won gold medals at the youth, club, and college levels. With her experience coaching Ultimate in both developmental and competitive settings, Sarafina enjoys the challenge of balancing skill levels and creating an environment where all players are welcome. Sarafina runs Ultimate Impact’s Dragons program, which provides weekly competitive practices for middle and high school youth, and also manages program data and surveys for the organization.

Jashan Shetty
Manager of Operations and Revenue
Jashan Shetty handles day-to-day operations for Ultimate Impact, including onboarding, contracting, accounting, and social media. As an undergraduate, he studied computer science engineering and captained the Indian team at the World U24 Ultimate Championships. After working for several years as a software engineer, Jashan made a career pivot to become Head of Development and Coaching at the Surat Ultimate Frisbee Association. He later joined Yuwa, a nonprofit that uses sports and education as tools to build confidence, and courage — specifically with girls from impoverished families in rural Jharkhand, India. He is currently pursuing his MBA at UC Berkeley.

Kenneth Justin Lim
Coaching and Leadership Program Manager
Kenneth Justin Lim graduated from Carleton College with a degree in computer science and spent seven years as a bioinformatician in medical research labs at UC Davis and UCSF. In 2024, he switched careers and joined the Ultimate Impact team because of his passion for coaching and connecting with the community. At Ultimate Impact, Justin manages the Coaching and Leadership (CaL) program, a workforce development opportunity where 18- to 24-year-olds work as paid coaches. Justin has spent time as a semi-professional Ultimate Frisbee player for the San Francisco Flamethrowers and the Oakland Spiders, and he is a national and world champion with San Francisco Revolver.

Sara Wheeler
Donor Engagement Coordinator
At Ultimate Impact, Sara Wheeler helps expand access to our programs and build lasting community partnerships. Originally from the East Bay, Sara has lived and worked all over the world, from Berkeley to Brooklyn to Berlin and many places in between. She played team sports growing up (but not Ultimate!) and is psyched to bring the lessons learned on the field to kids all over the Bay. Sara graduated with honors from UC Berkeley, where she worked as a caseworker for students experiencing financial difficulties. Outside of working hours, you can find her at the farmers market, in the ocean, or on a trail.

Hao Tang
CaL Coordinator
Hao Tang started at Ultimate Impact more than eight years ago. Having grown up in UI programs, he now works as a Coaching and Leadership Coordinator. Hao loves how impactful his work with kids in Ultimate Impact programs feels: “Being able to support and guide them, even in small ways like tying their shoes, makes the experience meaningful,” he says. When he’s not coaching at schools across San Francisco, he’s working on our social media (check out some of his work on our Instagram!). Hao currently attends San Francisco State University where he’s pursuing a degree in marketing. Eventually, he hopes to own his own business. When he’s not coaching kids to a scrimmage win or studying for class, Hao loves to exercise and drink coffee.

Marquest "Quest" Martin
CaL Coordinator
Marquest “Quest” Martin has been an Ultimate Impact program participant since 2017. Now a CaL coordinator, Quest graduated from City Arts and Technical High School in 2022. A leader at Ultimate Impact sites across San Francisco, Quest loves that his work as a coach means that he’s a part of school communities, getting to know youth as they grow in our programs. Quest is an incredible DJ and can always be trusted with the AUX.
Outside of work, Quest likes to play video games, read Manga, and collect Pokemon cards, including his Shiny Lucario card that he always keeps handy.

Destiny Hernandez
CaL Trainee
Destiny Hernandez is a Trainee in the Coaching and Leadership Program, coaching at schools in both San Francisco and Oakland. A first year participant, Destiny loves building lasting connections with youth week after week and watching their skills improve over time. Destiny also speaks fluent Spanish, which is an invaluable skill when working with Spanish-speaking youth. Destiny graduated from Ruth Asawa School of the Arts in 2025 and will enter university in fall 2026. Her experience in working with youth at Ultimate Impact has led her to consider pursuing a career in youth development. When she’s not teaching kids the forehand or leading a game of banana tag, Destiny enjoys making art, gaming, and learning new languages.

Kai Seymore
CaL Trainee
Kai Seymore has been with Ultimate Impact since 2022, when they first entered our PULLS program at Rise High School. At UI, their work is particularly focused on our competitive play program, assisting at our weekly Dragons team practice as well as schools throughout San Francisco. Kai’s in it for the long haul—they especially love to see kids grow into themselves and their personalities over time, and to develop their enjoyment of the ultimate.
A graduate of Rise High School in San Francisco, Kai is exploring a career in the veterinary field. When they’re not on the ultimate frisbee field, they love to make art and play video games.

Adil Ali
CaL Assistant
Adil Ali has participated in Ultimate Impact programs for six years. Now a Coaching and Leadership Program Assistant, Adil leads sites across San Francisco, where he loves to teach kids the frisbee skills he’s developed over his time at Ultimate Impact. A 2025 graduate of Burton High School in San Francisco, Adil is pursuing a high-level career in ultimate frisbee and one day would like to become an HVAC technician in an airline ground crew.

John Paolo Soriano
CaL Trainee
John Paolo “Paolo” Soriano is a trainee in the CaL program. Having first encountered Ultimate Impact programming in the 4th grade, Coach Paolo loves to be on the other side now as a coach, seeing how youth grow over time in our programs. His favorite part? “Seeing the ‘Aha!’ moments where they learn or understand something new about ultimate frisbee, whether it’s them catching a frisbee one handed for the first time or being able to get to 10 catches in a row.” Paolo graduated from Burton High School in 2025. Outside of school and work, Paolo is a huge baseball fan (go Giants!) and loves to stay active.
